According to the monthly review of the clothing trade advisory body (clothing resources), headquartered in Oxford, UK, November 19th, the analysis shows that the market share of Chinese clothing imports in September 2008 has reached a record high.

Analysis shows that from September 2007 to March this year, US purchasers left China, during which China imported only 20% of American clothing imports.

On the one hand, the US dollar is weak. On the one hand, the media report that the wages of workers are increasing rapidly, and buyers worry that China will raise the price of clothing. This worry has led buyers to leave China.

Clothing resources are analyzed for the imported garment square meters in the latest data from the US government's office of textile and clothing.

After March, China's share of the US market increased month by month.

Mike Flanagan, chief executive of clothing resources, said the reason is that wage increases have far less impact on clothing prices than many people expected.

For most garments, wage costs account for only 10-20% of production cost.

Because of China's appreciation of the renminbi, many dollar based production inputs (from oil to imported cotton) have increased in price and freight rates have increased, but these factories are less striking than Chinese rivals in Asia and the Americas.

In China, the actual garment factory price is difficult to change.

In most of 2008, according to China's RMB, clothing inflation increased from 1.5% to 2.5%.

Us purchasers paid an average increase of US $5-10% over the previous year.

Barack and Obama were elected president of the United States.

During his campaign, he promised to support American gauze producers. He agreed to impose a punitive duty on China's imports after the US quota was abolished at the end of this year.

But in November 15th, the United States and 19 other G-20 members assured them that they "refused to trade protectionism" and "stopped the promotion of new trade barriers".

"

The United States believes that China's imports are decreasing, but now China's imports are expanding again, so Obama may face a difficult problem after his successor.
