The team found that

Leather solid waste

Vegetable oils and fats are low cost raw materials for biofuel production.

Professor Karel Kolomaznik is the leader of the team. The key to the joint development with colleagues is to replace the fat with methanol.

Glycerol

He believes that this method is simple and convenient, and can effectively convert tanning waste into

Greenpeace 19, the international environmental group, released the latest list of "detoxification" fashion, marking the use and emission of toxic substances and the regulation of water pollution in the 29 main fashion brands in the world.

This is Greenpeace's second release fashion list after 2013. The performance of the major fashion brands is still significantly different. Among the 18 brands that promise to poison, 16 are leading the non-toxic fashion trend as a "detoxification leader", including three newly added brands, namely Inditex (Zara's parent company), Puma and Valentino. Nike and Lining (Li-Ning) have been rated as "green floats" because they have not fulfilled their poison pledge, and 11 brands have been listed as "stragglers" because they haven't made any commitments.

"Making beautiful fashions doesn't have to be at the cost of polluting the environment.

The 18 fashion brands that have already made the pledge to take up 1/10 of the global footwear market, we believe that the trend is driving the garment industry to establish a new standard of "sustainable fashion".

The popularity of this standard in the industry means that the supply chain and production process of garment will no longer be a secret of no light. "

Wu Yixiu, director of Greenpeace pollution prevention and control project, said.

The fashion list shows that 16 fashion brands have begun to eliminate some of the most widely used toxic and harmful chemicals.

At the same time, these brands have begun to disclose their suppliers' emission information to the public through an independent third party online platform.

At present, Zara, Adidas and Burberry are far ahead of their brands in fulfilling their poison pledge.

Greenpeace also appealed to 11 brands such as Hermes and Metersbonwe to make a poison pledge immediately to eliminate toxic and harmful substances in the supply chain.

"Pollution information in the open brand supply chain is a key step in establishing a harmless chemicals management system: the public has the opportunity to supervise the performance of the brand and participate in the management of chemicals. At the same time, it helps the government to formulate and promote stronger environmental protection measures, and has played a positive role in the governance of the chemical system."

Liu Jianguo, associate professor of environmental science and engineering, Peking University, said.

This year's detoxification charts set a key scoring standard for the detoxification performance of fashion brands, including the elimination of toxic and harmful substances in their products and production processes, as well as their progress in promoting information disclosure by suppliers to the public.

At present, nearly half of the surface water quality in China is not up to the drinking standard, and 64% of the underground drinking water sources have been seriously polluted. Water pollution has become one of the most urgent environmental issues in China.

The clothing and textile industry has discharged 1/10 of China's industrial sewage, and is a key industry in water pollution remediation.
